That Dog Toys Are "One Size Fits All"

Whether you have a large breed or a small dog, the wrong size dog toys could cause injury or lead to choking and other potential hazards. Keep in mind that if you have a puppy, you’ll need to adjust the size of their toys as they grow.  For example, balls should be large enough to carry, but not too small; your dog should not be able to close their mouth with the dog toy behind their teeth.  Dog toys that are too small can easily be swallowed or become lodged in your dog’s mouth or throat.

That Dog Toys Are Indestructible

Let's face it, dogs are little masterminds who can and will figure out a way to "kill" their dog toys. The key to prolonging their toy's life is by purchasing quality dog toys. Remember that the price of a dog toy is usually in direct relation to the quality of the toy that you are buying.  A $1 dog toy is likely not going to last very long, while a more expensive dog toy will be made with higher quality and more durable materials. INSIDER TIP - Look for dog toys that carry a replacement guarantee. These are going to be your wallet's savior since the company has enough faith in its durability to carry a guarantee on an item; they've obviously done their homework.

That Every Dog Toy is for Every Dog

Remember - every dog is different! Dog toy options are nearly endless and we know that choosing toys for your dog can be overwhelming. It may take a little trial and error before you find that perfect toy for your dog. So how do you choose toys that are right for your dog and that they actually like? To begin, ask yourself, “How does my dog like to play?” Does Buddy like to chew? Maybe Reese loves to chase and retrieve. Ruby might like to simply cuddle stuffed animals, while Charlotte loves treats, but is otherwise uninterested in interactive toys.  Well, no matter your dogs’ interests, there is a toy just for them! Once you've figured out your dog's play style (chewer, chaser, tugger, etc) - check out our Toy Finder to pinpoint the perfect dog toy for your pup!
