You know their names, but do you know their famous felines? We love it when celebrities use their amazing star powers for good and share how much they love animals and what they’re doing to help them. We've rounded up 10 of the most popular celebrities and their cats. But these celebs don't just love their own pets! Most of these cat lovers are also advocates for animal rescue and organizations that support animal welfare. Browse the list below and see if your favorites made the list!

Taylor Swift

Two of the most famous felines in social media call Taylor Swift their fur mom. Famously named after strong female leads from Swift's favorite shows, these cuties are regulars on Instagram and let’s face it, they let T-Swift post other pictures just so they can get a break from all the stardom. Meredith and Olivia Benson are frequently cited as Swift's favorite part of going home, we can see why!

Jesse Eisenberg

Rescue advocate and foster parent Jesse Eisenberg shares his home with a cat named Mr. Trunkles. In addition to giving his own kitty lots of love, Eisenberg regularly fosters abandoned and homeless cats until they find their forever homes. Jesse is truly driven by his celebrity status - the more successful his movies are, the more cats he fosters.

Russell Brand

Although this Brit may seem tough, Russell Brand has a soft spot for his celebrity cats, Morrissey and Jericho. The duo often appears on Brand's social media pages and are known for inspiring some of Brand's funniest tweets.

Katy Perry

Our previous celeb on the list’s ex-wife, Katy Perry, is also crazy about cats. While still married, Brand and Perry adopted a cat named Krusty. Upon their divorce, Krusty went with Katy and changed his name to Monkey. Monkey's more famous sister, Kitty Purry, was even the inspiration for Perry's makeup line. Kitty Purry even has her own Wiki page in addition to being featured in Katy’s video for “I Kissed a Girl” - watch out Katy - this kitty is stealing your thunder!

Macklemore

When Macklemore adopted 6-week old Cairo, he was in the doghouse with his wife. The tabby cat was apparently a peace offering between the couple. Today, Macklemore credits Cairo with helping save their relationship. You can find Cairo on her very own Instagram page, we think she deserves it!

Ke$ha

Kesha's cats, Mr. Peep$, and Mr. Fluffy Pants are also popular figures on social media. Mr. Peep$ even has his own Twitter page! But Kesha isn't just a lover of her own cats. She's also a PETA supporter and in 2011 was named the Humane Society's first-ever Global Ambassador.

Ian Somerhalder

Ian Somerhalder is a known animal lover, but cats are one of his favorites! Adorable Moke has his own Twitter page and frequently helps dad Somerhalder improve the lives of other felines. Somerhalder's charity, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, is committed to animal rescue, among other charitable ventures.

Lea Michele

The Glee star found her best friend, Sheila, on the Paramount lot in 2012. But when Lea Michele found little Sheila, she wasn't alone! Sheila's brother was adopted by Glee co-star Heather Morris. Now, that's keeping it all in the family!

James Franco

James Franco (and his brother Dave!) credit their mom with turning them into cat people. Back in 2013, Franco told Ellen DeGeneres that the family always had a house full of cats. Today, Franco has two black cats (Lux and Max) who he adopted from the set of Homefront.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore has become quite the cat lady over the years and her home boasts six cats! In addition to loving her own brood, Moore spends her free time raising money for cat shelters. She even voiced a cat in the animated Disney Jr. show, Sheriff Callie's Wild West.

There are many more amazing celebrities out there doing great work for our feline friends and we love knowing there is the support of superstars, and everyday people like you, caring for our sweet furry friends.
